THANKSGIVING SERVICE

To celebrate the season of Thanksgiving we will hold a special Thanksgiving service on Tuesday, November 26th, at 7:00PM in our sanctuary.  Join us as we lift up thanks and praise to our God who has blessed us and continues to bless us in such wonderful ways.  Child care will be provided.

FOR CHILDREN YOUNG AND OLD

Begin the holiday season with a blast from the past, an hour of fun to share with your family and friends.
ZED FRENCH will bring back the delight of elementary school hootenannies he brought to so many of his
students with sing-along times of fun.  Zed will lead with his voice and guitar all those familiar songs from
days gone past, along with Christmas carols to celebrate the season.  In addition, there will be a special
Christmas story brought by Kathy French for the enjoyment of all.
Join us for a wonderful time of music and singing on Sunday, December 1st, from 4:30 PM until 5:30 PM

GRACE is once again sponsoring a community-wide Christmas Gift Program. Our registration process has been completed and is closed.  The Christmas Gift Program offers families in Greene County an opportunity to provide Christmas gifts for their children who otherwise would not receive gifts.  The economy has hit families hard, and without the help and support from churches, civic groups, businesses and individuals, some children in Greene may not get a chance to see and feel the spirit of Christmas.
We are asking for your support of this program again this year.  As "Black Friday" approaches, many of you want to take advantage of sales. Our Christmas Gift Coordinator is working diligently to get gift cards out for folks to sponsor.  If you have not been contacted already about sponsoring a family, you may contact Paige Shifflett, GRACE Christmas Gift Coordinator, via e-mail:  gracechristmasgift@embarqmail.com or via telephone 1-434-481-1821  (you may need to dial the whole number including the "1").
We are in need of volunteers for this program on the following dates and times:
Sunday, December 8th from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to receive Christmas gifts
Wednesday, December 11th  from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. to help with Distribution
                            Wednesday,  December 11th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to clean up.
All activities are held at the American Legion Hall, 636 Madison Road, Stanardsville.  If you have a few hours and can volunteer, please contact Karel Seger, our Volunteer Coordinator, at the GRACE office 434-985-6792 or via e-mail at gracevolunteer@embarqmail.com.  If Karel is not available or the GRACE office is closed, please leave your name, phone number and the dates and times you are available.  Karel will contact you to coordinate your availability.  We especially need volunteers who are able to lift as the packages received and distributed are often very heavy. Please use the attached information to advertise the program in your church bulletins, civic organization newsletters and at work if allowed.
Thank you for blessing GRACE and the families we serve throughout the year.  Without your support, GRACE could not help all the folks we do throughout the year.

In God's Grace,
Doris Swenson, Director
