MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) has come to Greene!!
We are excited to host Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS). MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and filled with unique needs. It is our goal to encourage, equip, develop and inspire every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.
Our group meets the first Thursday evening of each month from 7PM to 9PM. The meetings offer a variety of speakers, creative activities and opportunities for valuable fellowship with other moms of preschoolers and mentors. Excellent childcare that includes a Christian curriculum is provided in a program called MOPPETS.
This chapter is supported by the Stanardsville United Methodist Church, but Church membership is not a requirement to join MOPS. A non-refundable registration fee of $55.00 for the 2010-2011 season (which includes MOPS International membership benefits of books, goodies, a weekly mom e-mail and MOMSense magazines) is due at the time of signing. Please make your check out to the Stanardsville United Methodist Church with "MOPS" in the memo line. Checks may be mailed to the church office at PO Box 740, Stanardsville, VA 22973
Registration for the 2010-11 year began on June 1st. We are always making spaces for moms in our MOPS group. Our MOPPETS Program, however, has limited space. If a childcare class becomes full, we will begin a waiting list. As soon as a space opens, the next child in line will be offered the spot. If you are a mom who does not need childcare, then go ahead and register for MOPS.

MOPS of Greene, a community and ecumenical ministry hosted at SUMC is looking for a few generous hearts to host and care for our MOPPETS (children of mops moms) during our meeting time. We meet the first Thursday night of the month sept- may from 7-9pm. This year we are offering a small stipend of $20 per night to our MOPPET helpers. Please see Julie Nitzsche for more information. Safe Sanctuaries training required.
